How It Works

Poland applies several VAT rates under its Value Added Tax Act: 23% is the standard rate for most goods and services, 8% applies to construction services and restaurants, 5% covers basic food items and books, 0% is for intra-EU supplies and exports, and 'zw' (zwolniony) means exempt from VAT for financial and medical services.

The calculator uses precise arithmetic with rounding to 2 decimal places (grosze) as required by Polish tax regulations. For Net to Gross: Gross = Net x (1 + rate). For Gross to Net: Net = Gross / (1 + rate). For Tax: Net = Tax / rate, Gross = Net + Tax.

These calculations follow the same rules used by the KSeF system when validating invoice amounts. Using this calculator before submitting invoices helps ensure your amounts are consistent and compliant.
